All about Russian Visas

In order to enter the Russian Federation, you must have one of the following in your passport:

  • A valid visa
  • "Разрешение на Временное Проживание" (Temporary Residence Permit)
  • "Вид на Жителство" (Permanent Residence)

If you are planing to be in Russia no more than 90 days at a time, a business visa is your best option. YWAM Perm is able to help its visitors obtain the following types of visa:

* Due to a new Russian law, foreign citizens in Russia on a 360 day business visa are allowed to stay in Russia for a maximum of 90 days out of a 180 day period.

If you would like to stay in Russia longer than 90 days, you will need to pursue one of the following options:

  • A student visa. To obtain a student visa you must be officially enrolled in an acredited Russian school, institution, or university.
  • A work visa. To obtain a work visa you must be officially employed by a registered Russian business.
  • A Temporary Residence Permit. To obtain a Temporary Residence Permit you must enter Russia with a valid visa and apply in person at a local immigration office. Due to a quota limiting the number of applications accepted each year, your application must be made as early as possible in the month of January following the Russian New Year's holiday. Last year the quota was exhausted in some regions as early as January 25th.
